So how is June going for you? What have you experienced? Any changes? Maybe some heightened tension or anxiety? A busier schedule, things feeling a little off or going catawampus? Perhaps everything is status quo!
Whatever the case, hopefully you are managing with little discomfort and even some ease. This is not a time to be feared, it’s simply a very active time for change in all ways. Some change will be initiated by you and some will not.
During these intense times we tend to get more in our heads, focusing on what is going on, why, what to do next. In fact, that may be all you are experiencing… the internal expression of all this activity in the form of being more in your head.
It’s important now to reconnect with your heart. This will make things flow more easily. When you are more in your heart and less in your head, you are more relaxed. When you are more relaxed, solutions and clarity come. And… you are more relaxed!
When we are in our heads we don’t always notice because… well… we are in our heads! You may feel detached, or like you are floating through your day on autopilot. You could also be a little more irritable, impatient and anxious.
If you realize that you are swimming around in your head more often than not right now, here are a few ways to shift this:
Have more fun. Spend more time with friends and family doing things you really enjoy.
Play with your children and/pets.
Read a good book. Listen to music.
Laugh as often as possible. Go to a funny movie, watch a cartoon.
Meditate or sit quietly and breathe deeply for a few minutes each day.
Pray
Be of service. Volunteer your time. Help a loved one or neighbor even without being asked.
Smile at strangers.
Getting back into your heart space is all about connecting with others and therefore connecting with love. These are just a few things that will shift you back into your heart and out of the mind chatter. It will help you navigate this zany month. If nothing else, you will enjoy yourself more and that is always a good thing!
