Do you often seek the advice of others when making decisions, feeling confused about what to do, how to do it or what is right for you? Are you full of self doubt in your ability to make decisions? Do you rely on another’s answer more than your own?
We all need someone to bounce things off of from time to time, or to talk something out and gain clarity on situations. But ultimately, you know what to do. You have the answers within you. However, you may not know how to tap into it. Call it intuition, knowing, inner voice, whatever you want but what it really is, is YOU.
Recognize, trust and act.
1. Recognize the way information comes to you. Before you ask yourself a question, take a few breaths, drink a sip of water, do something to center yourself. Then ask. You can ask a yes or no question, or state two opposite scenarios for example.
After you ask, tune into your body. You will feel a sensation most likely in your heart center or your gut. If you feel a lightness, that answer is what is best for you at this time. If you feel a heaviness, that indicates a no, not at this time. If you feel nothing at all you need to let go of your attachment to the answer. Centering a bit more will help.
2. Trust in your ability to do this. This is an aspect of you and what you are. Listen to what your body is telling you. Let go of doubt.
3. Act on the information you receive. That may make you a little nervous but take action. If you don’t like the results of your choices, don’t stress or beat yourself up. Simply make another choice. Take a different course of action.
Give this a try. Start with something small. Familiarize yourself with how you receive your answers. Trust what you “hear”. The more you trust it, the more clearly it will come through. Take action with faith in yourself and your ability to know what is right for you.
Following your inner guidance will never steer you wrong. Get to know how yours works and see what happens. It’s a part of who you are so you may as well own it!
