We hear so much about the importance of gratitude and being thankful, especially this time of year. But what does that mean? Why is it important? How do you do it, particularly if you are feeling really down?

How have things been lately? Have you experienced a few unexpected events? Are you feeling tired of the way things have been and ready for things to be different?  Have you realized that you’ve been trying to create something, trying to make something happen for quite some time and it’s just not? Do you wonder how in the world to make things happen anymore?

Recently I was on a road trip with my dog, a friend and her two dogs. We were on the road for 3 straight days, driving from Phoenix to Minnesota, in the middle of the heat wave in the Midwest. It was an unusual trip, to say the least. This is a bit of a long story but I want to share the details to make my point so please indulge me.
